At Mottisfont in Hampshire the ‘old fashioned’ roses bloom just once a year, reaching their peak in early June. As we celebrate 50 years since the precious collection was brought here for everyone to enjoy, the garden team is preparing it to face the climate challenges of the future. 
 
Meanwhile history broadcaster Alice Loxton visits Dyrham Park in South Gloucestershire to find out about the man who created the Baroque mansion we know today, and his place in the changing world of the 17th century.
